Hahaha, I crack myself up. See, that’s funny. Because of my surgery. On my right shoulder…?
Soooooo, anyway…I’m getting antsy over here. I saw my doctor, who has freed me from the prison of my sling (yay!) But, umm, my arm doesn’t work. Seriously. I can lift it about 4 or 5 inches and that’s it. Elbow to fingertip is great, it’s the whole shoulder to elbow thing that’s a bit of a problem. Basically, even though I look fine now, I’m still a gimp and pretty helpless.
Over the last 7 weeks, Hubby Bob has fed me some pretty awesome stuff. Frankly I’m surprised I didn’t gain a ton of weight, seeing as he’s really, really a good cook. I wish I had pictures of it all – it wasn’t anything fancy; it was simple, hearty, delicious, belly-filling, satisfying stuff. His version of Boston Market meatloaf, baked and breaded chicken, homemade mac & cheese – all gluten-free and all to die for. Plus, our local grocery store had BOGO on Ruggles ice cream, and we stocked up on Bear Claw, which is some seriously fantastic stuff, especially when you can’t sleep at 2am or you’re binge-watching Netflix.
But I’m missing the kitchen, and I’m missing putting up new recipes, and I’m missing the connection I feel when I post stuff for you guys .For some reason I felt like it was breaking a rule to post without a recipe to share – I don’t know where that idea came from – but I decided that didn’t make any sense. Instead of wasting my time browsing Imgur.com (which is still one of my favorite things!) I figured I should hop back in the saddle. That’s what one-armed bandits do, hop in the saddle, amirite?
I’m able to use my arm a bit more, and that will be getting better every day. Until I’m able to lift that mixing bowl, I guess I will just have to find other ways to entertain everyone. Btw, if you use the Chrome browser, and a page doesn’t load, you get a little T-Rex dude that shows up on the page. If you hit the space bar, it turns into a little video game. These are the things I learn on Imgur. I guess it’s not a complete waste of time.
